Walking isn’t only good for our physical, social and mental health. It’s also good for our communities, the environment and the economy.
We support and inspire people in Scotland to walk and wheel more.
Walk. Connect. Change your world.
The top destination for walking tips, tools and inspiration.
The free, 4-week Step Count Challenge starts on Monday 2 February 2026. It aims to support healthy habits and help people connect with their community at a time when lots of new residents are moving into the area.
By bringing people together around walking and wheeling, the Step Count Challenge helps to support wellbeing, strengthen social connections and make people feel more at home in their community.
“At Walking Scotland, we want everyone to experience the benefits of walking and wheeling. This Step Count Challenge is a great opportunity for residents of Danderhall and Shawfair to make a positive impact on their health, communities and environment.” Kevin Lafferty, our Chief Executive Officer
