Walking isn’t only good for our physical, social and mental health. It’s also good for our communities, the environment and the economy.
We support and inspire people in Scotland to walk and wheel more.

Director of Programmes and Operations
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, I lead Walking Scotland’s delivery programmes which support people and communities to walk, wheel and lead healthier, active lives. I also oversee our finance and corporate services, helping to ensure our organisation has a sustainable impact.
I’ve worked in the non-profit sector for over 30 years and spent nine years as part of the senior leadership team at Alcohol Focus Scotland. More recently I was Director of Leadership at The Lasting Difference consultancy, supporting non-profit organisations with organisational and leadership sustainability. I am a community development practitioner to trade and completed my MBA in 2021.
Today I am excited to be part of an organisation that champions the whole range of benefits everyday walking and wheeling bring to people and communities. I work alongside our fantastic delivery, finance and corporate services teams to continue to strengthen and expand our work to reach more people across Scotland.
Jen joined Walking Scotland in July 2026.
Jen shares how she adds walking into her day:
“I live in Glasgow so when I’m travelling to our Stirling offices, I have great opportunities to walk as part of my commute. And when I work from home, I always get outside for a lunchtime walk. Walking during the working day really helps me to reflect and think creatively – I often have my best ideas when I’m walking!
“On weekends I like to get out on longer walks. That includes walking in some of our beautiful Scottish countryside. But I also love walks around my local area, either taking a longer route to the shops, going to my local park or walking along the canal path.”
