Walking isn’t only good for our physical, social and mental health. It’s also good for our communities, the environment and the economy.
We support and inspire people in Scotland to walk and wheel more.
Walk. Connect. Change your world.
The top destination for walking tips, tools and inspiration.
Named ‘Walking Scotland 30’, the tartan celebrates 30 years of improving places and spaces to walk and wheel, connecting communities with programmes, and inspiring positive behaviour change.
Team members joined a weaving workshop where they learned about the history of tartan, designed patterns, and even had a go on the weaving loom.
“This tartan is bold and full of life, just like our Walking Scotland team. Our signature blue forms the steady foundation which grounds us, guides us, and reflects the reliability we bring to every step we take across the country. Woven through that base are vibrant bursts of orange and green, echoing the dots in our logo. These colours represent the moments where we come together, connect, and make a meaningful impact.” Alana Genge, Director of External Affairs and Engagement at Walking Scotland

The tartan launch comes shortly after we hosted the Big Walking Break, which encouraged people across Scotland to step out for a 30 minute walk or wheel in September. Schools, workplaces and communities all took part.
