Our Step Count Challenge offers an inclusive, fun way to get moving, feel better, and make a difference in your community.

Whether you’re walking or wheeling to work, exploring your neighbourhood, or stepping out with friends or colleagues, this challenge is for everyone. No matter your pace or starting point, every step counts.

What Is the Step Count Challenge?

Our Step Count Challenge is a fun and inclusive way to get active while supporting us to reach more people.

By tracking your steps and walking regularly, you’ll:

  • Improve your own health and wellbeing.
  • Encourage healthier habits in your community or workplace.
  • Raise funds to support accessible walking and wheeling across Scotland.

We run two national Step Count Challenges every year, in spring and autumn. But you can also run your own local or workplace challenge at a time that works best for you.

Why take part?

Encourage everyday walking and wheeling to improve physical, social and mental health. And inspire others to do the same.

Raise vital funds as you walk to support our work to remove barriers to walking, improving public health, and tackling the climate-nature emergency.

Contact our fundraising team to discuss fundraising ideas and support fundraising@walkingscotland.org.uk

Help address health inequalities, reduce car use, and build stronger, more connected communities.
