Scots count over 475 million steps in Summer of Sport Step Count Challenge

More than 1,500 people across Scotland have counted over 475 million steps as part of our 4 week Summer of Sport Step Count Challenge.

The challenge is fun, flexible and encourages us to build healthier habits through simple, everyday movement.

One participant, Harish, took part to motivate himself to be more active during the day. He says the challenge has made a noticeable difference to both his physical and mental wellbeing.

Rachael Prothero, our Corporate and Community Fundraiser, says Harish’s experience reflects what the challenge is all about.

“It’s fantastic to hear how the challenge has helped people enjoy a more active summer. Harish is spot on – staying active doesn’t need to be complicated and the challenge proves that. Walking and wheeling are the easiest and most accessible ways to improve our health and wellbeing.

“Being part of a team and enjoying some friendly competition can help us with motivation and consistency.”

The next Step Count Challenge starts on Monday 12 October.
