Walking isn’t only good for our physical, social and mental health. It’s also good for our communities, the environment and the economy.
We support and inspire people in Scotland to walk and wheel more.

Director
After working as a solicitor in private practice for 20 years, Alison has been working at ScotWays since 2012 initially as treasurer and subsequently also as National Secretary, collaborating with the ScotWays board to ensure the smooth running of the organisation in its work promoting public outdoor access throughout Scotland.
She is a strong supporter of active travel and of encouraging people to take advantage of Scotland’s outdoor access rights, responsibly of course. Alison is an enthusiast for Walking Scotland’s Step Count Challenge and since being involved with the charity, has encouraged her colleagues and others to participate every year.
Alison joined our Board in October 2017.
Alison shares how she adds walking into her day:
“Largely working from home, I make sure I ‘walk to work’ by going out for a walk each morning before sitting down at the computer. I don’t have a car, so most of my travel is active.”
