Walking isn’t only good for our physical, social and mental health. It’s also good for our communities, the environment and the economy.
We support and inspire people in Scotland to walk and wheel more.
Walk. Connect. Change your world.
The top destination for walking tips, tools and inspiration.
Live Borders offers a number of health walks. Macmillan Walks Move More Borders is a partnership between Macmillan Cancer Support and Live Borders. We provide free weekly walks for people affected by cancer in Tweedbank and Kelso. All Macmillan walks are led by a trained Macmillan volunteer walk leader. The walk leaders lead the walks at a pace and distance that is appropriate for everyone taking part. These Macmillan walks are short, sociable and provide a supportive, friendly environment for anyone affected by cancer to become more active. People living with cancer, their friends, family and carers are all welcome to join the groups. Move More Borders also work with health walk project Walk It to offer weekly Macmillan Friendly walks across the area. Libraries & Museums – Walking for Wellbeing Walks These free walks combine walking with reading and literature supported from Live Borders Library Services, or a museum based cultural activity support by Live Borders Museums, Galleries & Archives Services. Library Services and the Museums, Galleries & Archives services sit at the heart of our communities and connect people with each other and now this can be done in the great outdoors. This programme has been developed to promote and support holistic benefits for wellbeing and mental health.
