Walking the Kiltwalk

Rachael Prothero, our Corporate and Community Fundraiser

When walking is your purpose, there’s no better way to raise awareness – and funds! – than by lacing up your trainers and walking the talk.

On Sunday 14 September, 10 staff and trustees are putting their best foot forward for the Edinburgh Kiltwalk, taking on the Big Stroll (11 miles) in support of Walking Scotland’s vital work.

But it’s not just about the distance we’re walking, it’s about the difference walking makes.

Walking improves physical, mental and social health, creates safer and more connected communities, supports the local economy and protects the environment. It’s a simple yet effective way of helping to address some of the greatest challenges of our time, like physical inactivity, the mental health crisis, loneliness and the nature-climate emergency .

That’s why walking matters. And that’s why it’s our core mission, as your national walking and wheeling charity, to inspire and empower people to walk and wheel more as part of everyday life.

Every step the team takes during the Kiltwalk is because we believe in the power of walking. And we’re not the only ones. Thanks to our generous supporters we’re so close to our fundraising target. You can help us cross the finish line by sponsoring the team at Walking Scotland: Edinburgh Kiltwalk 2025.

If you’d like take on your own challenge to raise money for Walking Scotland, we’d love to hear from you! Our fundraising team will be there to support you, every step of the way.

Get in touch and let’s chat about your idea.
