Walking isn’t only good for our physical, social and mental health. It’s also good for our communities, the environment and the economy.
We support and inspire people in Scotland to walk and wheel more.
Walk. Connect. Change your world.
The top destination for walking tips, tools and inspiration.
Meeting Point: Outside the main entrance of Millerhill Community Hub, Midlothian. Look for the walk leader – usually wearing an orange gilet or a blue jacket and brandishing a clipboard! Time: 10:00 am – walks last 20–30 minutes. Route & Pace: We follow the same route each week towards the Shawfair–Roslin Railway Path, making it easy to find us if you arrive late. We’ll head from the Hub up the path, walking half an hour out and half an hour back, so it always works out to about an hour — even with baby antics along the way. The walk is easy-paced, mostly on level, paved paths, suitable for all abilities, including wheels and pushchairs. Approximate distance: 1–1.5 miles. Who’s Welcome: Parents, grandparents, and carers with little ones, or anyone wanting a short, social stroll outdoors. What to Bring / Wear: Comfortable footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, and optional water. Booking / Contact: No booking required – just turn up and join in.
