Walking isn’t only good for our physical, social and mental health. It’s also good for our communities, the environment and the economy.
We support and inspire people in Scotland to walk and wheel more.
Walk. Connect. Change your world.
The top destination for walking tips, tools and inspiration.
Highland Health Walks delivers 15 health walks every week, from Tain in the north to Tomatin in the south, Dingwall in the west to Nairn in the east. Highland Health Walks is a project managed by PFW, a local charity committed to inspiring and supporting local people and volunteers to improve their health and wellbeing. Our large network of incredible volunteers enables people across the Inner Moray Firth to access safe, supported and friendly walks on a weekly basis. We support people new to physical activity, people who may have health problems which makes it difficult to access other activity groups, and a number of our volunteers are trained in Strength & Balance and have attended Paths For All All Ability Training to enable groups to be more inclusive. Our walks can support those with a whole range of physical and social health conditions and increasing partnership working with other agencies (such as community interest groups, UHI Wellbeing Team, Highland VIP Walking Group, and the NHS) is allowing us to expand options available for health walks across Highland.
