Ageing Well in Edinburgh encourages older people to lead a more active and healthy lifestyle through participating within various activities including walking, seated exercise, cycling, dancing, indoor curling, gardening, singing, buddy swimming, photography and a craft group. Walking with Ageing Well is a great way to be active and meet lots of people of a similar age. They have a number of weekly walks, which take place on various days and times during the week. There is also an evening walking programme during the summer months and a monthly Saturday programme, specifically targeted at those who cannot access daytime programmes. All walks are led by qualified Walk Leaders who are aged 50+ themselves, and who provide support, encouragement and information to their peers to help them get started and continue being active. Some of the walks are also Dementia Friendly and/or Macmillan Friendly.
