Walking isn’t only good for our physical, social and mental health. It’s also good for our communities, the environment and the economy.
We support and inspire people in Scotland to walk and wheel more.
Walk. Connect. Change your world.
The top destination for walking tips, tools and inspiration.
The Walk on Hebrides walking project provides opportunities for people across the Outer Hebrides to be physically active through Health Walks. A Health Walk is a short, social, local, low-level led walk that can be adapted to suit the needs of the walkers. Health Walks are free and can be anything from 10-60 minutes. Participants can start off small and increase their pace and distance over time. Walking is a simple way to increase physical activity. It’s an all-round great activity for all ages and fitness levels, which can improve health, help with weight loss, make you feel good and it’s free: you just need some comfy shoes! Some Health Walk Leaders can undertake simple strength and balance exercises with walkers, which can help to promote independence and reduce the risk of falls.
