Angela was encouraged by her sister to take part in our autumn 2025 Step Count Challenge.
The challenge became the motivation that Angela needed to get moving during the dark nights.
Angela suffers from Rheumatoid Arthirisis and hypermobility syndrome, which means her joints can become painful and exercise is often a challenge. She sits down for much of her job, meaning by the end of working day she has done few steps.
However, the Step Count Challenge changed this. Angela began going for a lunchtime walk and walking on the treadmill in the evenings to boost her step count. She took her toddler to the park in the mornings too, meaning he also got to enjoy the benefits of steps in the fresh air.
The Step Count Challenge led to Angela picking up running again, and she hopes to run a 5k in the future. Since having her child, Angela wants to be fitter and make sure she’s taking care of herself.
“I’m keen to take care of myself and my health so that I can still be running around with him in the future.”
