Walking isn’t only good for our physical, social and mental health. It’s also good for our communities, the environment and the economy.
We support and inspire people in Scotland to walk and wheel more.
Walk. Connect. Change your world.

We’re helping more people to walk and wheel in Scotland
We make it easier for everyone in Scotland to enjoy the benefits of walking and wheeling. There are four ways we do this. By delivering programmes, improving paths, strengthening networks, and promoting walking and wheeling.
The number of Health Walks supported every week across Scotland by our Scottish Health Walk Network. This helps over 9,500 people join a health walk in their community.
The number of people we’ve trained to deliver health walks in their communities.
The number of people who engaged in our workplace Step Count Challenge.
The number of direct interactions we’ve had with young people to encourage them to walk more during their school day.
The number of communities we’ve worked with to pilot Walking Action Plans to reduce the barriers to walking and increase community connectedness.
The total of grants we’ve awarded across Scotland to improve paths, deliver more health walks, and promote walking as a sustainable travel option.
We updated our brand and name in June 2025 to Walking Scotland. We’re still working to update everything with our new branding. This means you might spot our previous, Paths for All, branding in places, and some links in downloads might not work as they should.
If you have any problems, let us know and we’ll help as best we can. You can also sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know when we publish updated and new resources and guides.
