Walking isn’t only good for our physical, social and mental health. It’s also good for our communities, the environment and the economy.
We support and inspire people in Scotland to walk and wheel more.

After enjoying a few Walking Scotland-supported buggy walks, Laura introduced her workplace, Macs Adventure, to Walking Scotland.
As a walking and cycling holiday company founded and based in Glasgow, supporting Walking Scotland was a natural fit for Macs Adventure and a great way for them to give back to a cause close to their hearts. And so began our partnership!
Since 2024, the team at Macs Adventure has been taking strides to raise money for Walking Scotland. They’ve taken on two Walking Scotland Step Count Challenges, fundraising from family, friends and colleagues to make their steps go further.
As their 21st anniversary approached, they decided to step up to another walking challenge to mark the special occasion. A group of staff volunteered to walk either 21 kilometres or 21 miles in aid of Walking Scotland, with Macs Adventure matching all sponsorship donations.
Staff across the UK picked their path. Sarah tackled the Great Glen Way from Invermoriston to Drumnadrochit. Aled embarked on a 21-kilometre walk near his home in North Wales with his dogs, Nia and Penny. Eleanor, Sophie and Nash took on the West Highland Way from Bridge of Orchy to Kingshouse. Amy walked with her family near Horton in Surrey. Michael trekked 21-miles along Scotland’s east coast.
To date, Macs Adventure have raised over £2,300 for Walking Scotland. Their fundraising experiences not only boosted their physical activity levels but also reinforced camaraderie among the team. And they felt a genuine sense of pride in contributing to such a meaningful cause.
“We walked, we laughed, we bonded and, most importantly, we made a difference.”
If your organisation is interested in following in Macs Adventure’s footsteps, either by raising money for or donating to Walking Scotland, we’d love to connect with you.
